Frequently asked questions about Dining tables

Shape sets the tone

The rectangular dining table is and remains the foundation, the shape that organizes a space most calmly. A round dining table brings people closer together. No corners, everyone sits equally, and in a square room it naturally falls into place. A flat oval dining table gives that same softness, but with the length of a rectangular table. The Danish oval shape, with slightly curved sides that narrow towards the ends, is the most refined version of this. If you want more character, there is the organic shape: a top that is drawn more freely, but never by chance.

Solid oak, walnut and HPL Fenix

Oak is the basis of the collection. In hardwax oil, the wood remains open and tactile, stained it goes towards dark and warm, lacquered it gets a calmer surface that demands little attention. Walnut is deeper in color and shows marks more strongly, and naturally gives a table the leading role in a room. If you want a sleek, even look, there is HPL Fenix: matte, flat and virtually insensitive to fingerprints and traces. Whichever finish you choose, the starting point remains the same: a material that gets more beautiful the longer you live with it.

Which size do you need

A dining table only works when there is comfortable space to walk around it. Allow at least 90 centimeters of space around, and 60 centimeters of table width per person. For four people, a rectangular table of 140 to 160 by 90 centimeters works, or a round table with a diameter of 120 centimeters. Six people sit comfortably at 180 to 200 centimeters in length, or at a round table of 140 centimeters. For eight people, you end up with 220 to 240 centimeters. First measure the walking space you have left: that determines the size, not the other way around.

Designed to last

Every HENK table originates from architectural simplicity: a strong foundation, refined to the point where nothing more is needed. No seasonal shapes, no experiments, but furniture that you know will look exactly the same ten years from now.

Chairs, benches and lighting

At the table, everything comes together. In the collection you will find dining chairs and dining benches in the same signature, and pendant lights for above the dining table that complete the whole without demanding attention.
